Restoration - Complete Documentation

The restoration of the Old Naval Hospital began in June 2010, and is expected to take approximately one year. Photographs will be published on a regular basis documenting the progress of restoration both by the date and the subject (see links above). There was an earlier partial restoration which is documented (see "Previous Construction and Restoration Updates" below) in narrative and photographic form.

The photographs are organized into two major categories: "Overview" and "Complete Documentation" (this page). The "Overview" section provides a month-by-month selection of photographs representing the highlights of the restoration for that month. This "Complete Documentation" section has all the photographs and descriptions including the "Overview" photos, with many additional photos and detail shots of particular interest.

All the photos are titled and dated with the date the photograph was taken. The photos are organized into specific subject areas, such as "Grounds", "Elevations", "Fence", "Doors and Windows", "Ground Floor", "First Floor"...etc. for easy identification. Within the building, each photo has a label indicating its approximate location in the building, eg. "Northwest corner", "Hallway", "Center" and so forth. Outside photographs are also labeled with a location.
