Benjamin Drummond - The First Patient

1883 Widows Declaration for Pension or Increase of Pension

On October 30, 1883, Laura Drummond filed this Widow's Declaration for Pension or Increase of Pension. In it she states that their son, Benjamin W. Drummond, was born on May 14, 1876. It also tells us that Laura Drummond was illiterate, because witnesses attest that they saw her "make her mark" rather than sign her name. At this time she lived at No. 253 West 28th Street, New York City. This is a digital copy of the original record held by the National Archives. Click here to see the other side of this form.
